A Baptist Catechism Question 6

I am trying to hang in there and learn from this weekly. It is a big job to think, and to study, and also to memorize them. I haven't quite memorize all of it yet but had meditate about them. I had found them interesting to ponder about it too. I am thankful for A Baptist Catechism.

I am getting A Baptist Catechism from Desiring God website.

Question 6: May all men make use of the Scriptures?

Answer: All men are not only permitted, but commanded and exhorted, to read, hear, and understand the Scriptures.

Scripture: John 5:39; Luke 16:29; Acts 8:28-30; Acts 17:11. (I will be posting it below, so that you don't have to go to the link. All the link will be English Standard Version "ESV".)

39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, John 5:39 ESV

29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ Luke 16:29 ESV

28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Acts 8:28-30 ESV

11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Acts 17:11 ESV
