Reading Proverbs and Studying the Letter of James!

I thought that I would encourage you all to read Proverbs every day of the month. There are 31 chapter in Proverbs and one for each day. I am aware that not all months have 31 days. Carol had encouraged me to read Proverbs, and I read it last month. I really had enjoy reading Proverbs every day. It does remind me who am I for Christ, and how I am living my life for Christ.

There are some days that I am not living my life for Christ as I ought to. So this does help me to think about what I have been reading as well as studying the Letter of James. I just finish the first chapter of James yesterday. I am looking forward to study the second chapter of James.

The Letter of James is kind of like Proverbs to me as I am eating and studying His Word.

I am still reading Knowing God as you can see in the earlier post about this book. I can't put down this book. Right now, I am on page 206 and want to read that again. It is about Adoption: The Highest Privilege. WHOA! I never had thought about that before and had to read it again slowly.

Hungry to eat His Word!

Dear Guerite
In the Canon of the New Testament, written by St. Athanasius in his paschal letter of 367, has given the Catholic letters a priority in sequence, they follow the Acts of the apostles, with James as the first Epistle. It stayed so until a bishop of Iconium changed the sequence, starting with St. Paul's 13 letters. James epistle reflects Christian way of living, as was practiced in the eastern churches.
james has been seen as opposing Paul's stress on justification by faith, due to the famous section in James 2.14-26. But there is no contradiction. Works for Paul are works of the Law. For James they are deeds of charity.
Thanks for your message.
