I was babysitting my wonderful church's family dogs that is a Miniature Schnauzer. Their dogs' names are Puddles and Jacques. They are very lovable too, and they too have two cats at home. So they are cat-friendly. I had babysat their dogs before, and Anselm had enjoy them too. I was looking forward to babysit them again and have fun with them with Anselm too.
Ever since I lost my beloved Golden Retriever, Rooster which was also Anselm's best friend, and I know that she does miss him as much as I do. You can read more about him in this blog (look under labels: furry children).
Before they came, I put the green old fashion flat top footlocker (Length 33 1/2", Width 18 3/4" and Height 21") in the doorway of the dinning room which is full of my Snoopy's collection, so that she can escape from the dogs. Puddles and Jacques can't get into the dinning room because of the footlocker is in their way. This way had work very well for her before.
Before I went shopping, I was talking to Anselm as I normally do that. I told her that I will be back while she was on top of the footlocker, and she did MEOW at me for leaving her. I had to talk to her and rub her to ensure her that she will be okay since Puddles and Jacques weren't bothering her, and she does have her area when she needed to escape from the dogs.
Before going telling her that I will be back, she did tagged them as she goes by them and rolling and stretching out in front of them. I know that she is fine with them but doesn't want me to think so. She doesn't want to admit that she like them. I know that she does. That is why she MEOW at me for leaving her for about less than an hour. When I came back she was in my bedroom and resting on my old classic Lazy Boy chair. Both of the dogs can get in my bedroom since I didn't close that off. They were all fine and happy when I got back from shopping.
By the way, when we all went to bed for the night, Puddles and Jacques slept with me part of the time, and Anselm was on my old classic Lazy Boy chair. We were all fine.
During the day, she does tagged them as she go by. On the other hand, she have to learn not to run because they like to chase her. If she doesn't run, she is fine. She is being mindful about them and like to tease them when she feel like to do so.
I was thinking about us, and how we are like Anselm when we cry or MEOW about someone leaving us for a while. Just like parents leaving their children in the nursery. Some do look forward to go to the nursery but not all children do. We all want security blanket or comfort. Also I was thinking about our God that will never leave and forsake us.
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
