Summer break and Bible Study!

Yes! I know it is summer time for all of us. It is so easy to leave the Bible Study behind because we have summer break or vacation. We all need to stay in tune to His Word no matter what we are going to do this summer. I encourage you all to read my pastor's blog about Pursuing Christ This Summer

So, I do also encourage you all to take up Bible Study time for the summer with your friend(s). I am so thankful for a wonderful friend, Lisa, in my church family that had invited me to have Bible Study with her on Sunday night. We will study the book of Philippians. I am so thankful for who Lisa is in Christ. I am looking forward to that in every way.

By the way, I prefer to have Bible Study with someone than to do it on my own. I learned a lot more that way, and they can hold you accountable too. I had try to do my own Bible Study for the summer, but I had failed in that. Then Lisa asked me on this past Sunday, and I am so thankful for Lisa, and her idea to have Bible Study together. WAY TO GO! This is my answer to prayer! The Lord knows my need and my weakness too.

As I was reading His Word today during my lunch time away from home. I was thinking about who I am in Christ, and how I live my life for Christ. I found myself asking myself "Am I always praying joyful for others in my prayer like Paul is praying in his prayer with joy for the saints in Philippi?" I know that I am always thankful for a wonderful godly friends in my church family. I do always thank the Lord for them, and who they are in Christ with joy. But I need to be praying for those who are a new believer, and those who are falling away from Christ, and those who are hurting in their life. It is so easy to pray for those who you love so dearly in your life than to pray for those who you are not crazy about. I realized that I can't play favoritism, and I need to start praying with joy for them. I know that we are not perfect, and we all have fallen short of His glory.

This lesson had taught me about my attitude to others, and how I treat other too.

How wonderful to have a sister in Christ seek you out to invite you to study God's Word together. I will be praying that God will open his Word to your hungry soul and that your partner will encourage you as well as you encouraging her.

I enjoyed your comments on praying with joy for others. You are so right about it being easy to pray for those we are close to but it being hard to pray for those we aren't crazy about. May God give us both hearts that will pray with joy and love for everyone.
