Advent Reading Plan!

I just want to let you all know that I had started Advent Reading for the first time in my life which I always wanted to do. Yes, it took a while for me to find a great Advent Reading Plan especially for me, adult and not for the kids since I don't have any children.

Before the beginning of Advent week, I had read Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus edited by Nancy Guthrie. It is a great Advent kind of book to read and preparing your heart for true meaning of  Christmas. I am still looking for another great book too. I know that I will want to read this wonderful book again for the next Advent in 2012. I would love to get Treasuring God in our Traditions by Noel Piper.

What Advent Reading Plan am I using? Well, I have been reading from Noel Piper's blog daily as she post Advent Reading Daily for us to read from the Bible. I am so thankful for that too. I also am using another one that I have found on Monergism website. Here is the link to 2010 Advent Reading. I haven't been able to find an updated one that is 2011, but that isn't the problem, I was able to change the date for this year on my print out.

I am so thankful for having this wonderful Advent Reading Plan to use this year for the first time. It does help me a lot to focus on the True meaning of Christmas.

I am still looking for something for all of us, adult and something for the kids as well. There are a lot of Advent Reading Plan out there, and I am kind of nippy picky about some of them. Some are not Christ-Center focus like it should be, or not Reformed like I wish it should be. Some were too Mickey kind of Advent Reading Plan which doesn't sound right. There are a lot of Catholic Advent Reading Plan out there, and I didn't want to use that. There are a lot of them for parent with children. Not many just for adult like us which is sad.

I also would love to add music too onto the Advent Reading Plan. To tell you the truth, I am not gifted in music at all. I know that I would add Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, O Come All Ye Faithful,  O Holy Night,  O Come O Come Emmanuel,  O Little Town of Bethlehem,  Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, Joy to the World, Silent Night and many more. I just need to find the link online to listen to them and sing with them.

Let all of us have Christ-Center focus for Christmas. Let us keep on pointing others to Christ all the more. Let us be like Linus Van-Pelt who can explain What Christmas is all about.

If you know a great Advent Reading Plan, or book(s), or music with link to listen to them online free with the wording that I can read, please do let me know about them.

Merry Christmas!
