What Book Are You Currently Reading?

Question: What book (not counting the Bible) are you currently reading that is challenging to you to live your life for Christ?

I am currently reading Finally Alive by John Piper and can't wait to read more tonight. I am still in the first chapter and am a slow reader since I am a digger. I am really enjoying this book and learning a lot too. I am so thankful for John Piper and his love for Christ. I do have a lot of his books and so thankful for them too.

I do want to encourage you all to get a wonderful godly book to read that will challenge you to live your life for Christ or to help you to understand His Word with the Holy Spirit better, and also to grow more in love for Christ!

Reading His Word is the best of all. We should do that daily without any question of doubt. I do want to encourage you all that you also get wonderful godly books to read to get to know Christ better too.

If you don't know what books to get, then look up on this blog and click on Books! There you will see what books I had read. They are the books that I do want to encourage other to read. I will continue to update that link. I will not post any books that I don't want others to read but only post books that I would encourage other to read.

I do hope that your church does have a book table for you to look through and buy them. If not, Desiring God does have a lot of wonderful books to read. Where to find wonderful godly books? You can go to Westminter Bookstore, Monergism Books, and Crossway Books. I just listed a few bookstore that you can buy online.

Hi 'Guerite! :) I am so grateful for the many, many books that have been written over the years that edify and encourage the Christian, and the church as a whole. They are precious gifts from God!

Currently, Tony & I are reading through "The Search for God and Guinness" by Stephen Mansfield. We have about 12 pages left, so we're almost done. :) It is the story of the late Author Guinness and his descendants - the start of the Guinness Brewery and how his great faith in God impacted the way Arthur did business. It talks about how they transformed their city of Dublin through their generosity and faithful proclamation of King Jesus. Author's Christian worldview impacted every area of his life. It has been a superb book and has challenged me in many areas. Actually, I am going to reread it again by myself, and highlight some favorite quotes along the way.

Another book I recently started on my own is "Secrets of a Beautiful Life" by JR Miller. He is one of my favorite authors and his works are always edifying to my heart. They're also all available for free online (jr-miller.com).

I have heard good things about Finally Alive, but have not yet read it. I'll add that to my list. ;)

It is so great to hear from you Shayna and your eating books too.

I will check the JR Miller out too.

Finally Alive is a very helpful book to read. It is about Born Again. It is so amazing to read that book. Also people had the wrong view or understanding about born again. I knew this and been so frustrated with some people who considered that they are Born Again Christian when they weren't in the first place.

This does explain the true meaning what Born Again really means with scriptures to point out very clearly. I am so thankful for John Piper and his love for Christ.
