The Poll: Do you prefer Book or e-Book?

I do want to encourage you all to take the poll on the left side of this blog.

I am seeing a lot of people is very crazy about e-Book. But I still do see people are reading book and not e-Book.

Speaking for myself, I prefer books and not e-Book. I can always highlight and write on them. Also, I can always go back to my book on the shelve and find what I am looking for. I don't have e-Book but e-Bible. I am sure that you can highlight them in your e-Book. Can you share with us about your personal experience and the pro and cons of having e-Books, please?

I am so thankful for e-Bible in my old Palm Pilot. That does help me a lot especially with all the translations that I don't have to carry around. When I am away from home and just have my ESV (English Standard Version), one or two books that I am currently reading in the book form with me, and my Palm Pilot with 12 e-Bible translations in there and plus other helpful Biblical tools too. I wouldn't know what to do without them.

Please do take the Poll on the left side of this blog. It will be up for 10 days.

Hey 'Guerite, I think e-books have a great future! I love how you can have many books and resources all stored on one tiny device which allows you to throw it in your purse or pocket with ease. And it's a lot less heavier than carrying a big stack of books around. :) Some books on the ipod and ipad allow you to highlight, increase the size of the font, and take notes right there in the book. For his textbooks, Tony prefers the ebook/pdf version because he is able to highlight the text and have the computer read it back to him. The search feature is also very handy. I give ebooks two thumbs up!! :)

With all that said though, not all book applications for these devices are as smooth as described above and can actually be quite frustrating. So I still LOVE my book shelves filled with books. Especially the ones that have been marked up! Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place" is one such book that I've had for many years. :)

P.S. Something funny that happened just this morning... We were sitting at the table eating breakfast and I was reading 1 Thessalonians from my physical Bible out loud. As I got to the bottom of the page, I placed my finger on it and was about to scroll the page down (like you would do on the ipod touch). Haha. My brain was confused I guess. :)

I hope you have a great day!

Hi! Shayna,

Thank you for sharing this with us. Does it come in color code or whatever to write in the iPod or whatever e-Book reader that you are currently using? I mostly use red, sometime blue pen to write the comment or underline it. I sometime need to use a very different color to catch my attention.

I can see that you had been eating 1 Thessalonians, that is His Word this morning in preparation for John's sermon tomorrow.
