Some of you know that I was born deaf in 1964 due to German Measles. I am oral educated (can talk) which I am very thankful for. I didn't learned to sign until 2003 because I was so hardheaded and didn't want to sign. Now, I do sign for the deaf people. On the other hand, I am not that fluent at it, but I still am learning more as I sign with deaf people.
I just want to write this blog because I am concerned that the State of NC want to close both deaf schools in NC. One here in Wilson (ENCSD) and other is Morganton (western part of the state). Both of this schools is not an oral school for the deaf, like the one I went to in St. Louis, Mo. I am grateful for these two deaf schools that can teach deaf children to learn to read, write and many more.
State of NC think that deaf kids can go to public school or have them to go to the Governer Morehead that is for the blind. Governer Morehead school aren't equip for the deaf but equip for the blind. There are some deaf there, if I am told correctly.
Public school aren't equip to educated deaf children who only sign and doesn't talk at all. We can't put deaf kids in public school at all. They will not be able to learn there with normal kids who can talk.
Please do pray that we the deaf people will win the case to keep both deaf school open. Also visit my other blog that is A Heart for the Deaf. I do have a lot of posting about what is going on with the link to Wilson Daily Times. Take your time to read them and pray for them.
Education is very important. We can't afford to cut the budget of education like this at all.

Thank you! The Lord had made me deaf for His purpose for His name sake. I just trust in the Lord for His reason why I was born deaf. Neither of my parent were saved until I came into the family, and this got them to turn to Christ for help and got saved a few years later. This had been a wonderful blessing for my lovely parent. He is using me to be deaf for His ministry. Although, we don't understand everything.
By the way, I am not charismatic. Charismatic had rub me wrong, and they had gone overboard in what is not biblical teaching. By being too focus on healing ministry, "we got the power", and not focus on His Word. There are many other thing that still does rub me wrong there.
I will get my hearing when I see Him as He called me to go home to be with Him. More than that, I will be with Him which is far better than getting my hearing. I want to be with Him and worship Him alone.
