Rooster was named after John Wayne in True Grits and Rooster Cogburn and the Lady. John Wayne was one of my favorite actor, and I am a John Wayne's fan too.
This picture was taken at Emerald Isle at the beach on December 9, 2004. We both had a lot fun and walked four miles on that day. He always loves to go to the beach whenever we can go. He got wet, and we did have fun. He was so happy in this picture.
If I can find some of the puppy pictures of him, I will try to have that posted. You can see some of the pictures of him with my kitty-cat, Anselm early on the blog that I had posted. You can see that they do love each other.
I do miss him so much. I wish that I can afford another one but my budget say, "No, way!" I do have another two wonderful big dogs (Jacob and Blondie), but they are not a Golden Retriever. Don't worry, they do stay outside. Plus, Anselm don't like Jacob and Blondie but loves Rooster. I am sure that she would love to have another Golden Retriever since they do like to play with cat gently.
One of these days when I can afford another one, I would get me another Golden Retriever.
Thank you my wonderful church family for helping me to buried him on Tuesday night. I know it is a hard job to do. I couldn't do it without your wonderful help. Thank you!

so glad you are blogging now- since i hear so much about you from my best friend, Jeanna. i have been praying for you during this season since loosing your sweet dog. i know it has got to be hard! know that beaumont texans are praying for you this christmas. (i would have discovered your blog sooner but we have been traveling) i look forward to getting to know you more through the blog!- laura
