Are you eating His Word?

I have learned that eating His Word is far better than just reading His Word. Anybody can read His Word and not taking it in or meditates on it. We all need to be eating His Word and meditating on what He had to say to us.

16Thy words were found and I ate them, And Thy words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16 NASB'77

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:2-3 NASB

Here is one of my favorite types of Bible Study:
1) Pray first before studying His Word
2) Have a daily Bible Study
3) Be involved in a Bible Study with the group a least once a week, so that you all can talk about what you have learned. I find this is the best way than to be on your own. You will grow more spiritually with Bible Study Fellowship.

There are many different types of methods for Bible Study: Here is one of my favorite ways.

A) Observation – what does verse or passage say?
B) Interpretation – What does verse or passage mean?
C) Application – what does verse or passage mean to me? (Or how does this apply to your life?)

Try this with more than one translations. You will learn a lot that way.

If you don't like to mark up your Bible. That is okay, and I understand that. I was that way. I found that I can print out more than one translations online, and I can mark that up. I would use colorful pens to mark it up.

Here is a wonderful Bible Tools online that is BibleGateway.

I do hope this will help you to improve your Bible Study. If you don’t have a Bible Study group to go to, or your church doesn’t have one.

You can go to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) which is an inter-denominational Bible Study Fellowship. Go to BFS online and find out where they are in your area and go there.

You will have a wonderful time. I had been involved in BSF since March 2004 to May 2006. I am not in it now because I am working on my college education transfer in AA degree at Wilson Tech College then go to Southeastern College at Wake Forest, Lord willing, so that I can get a Biblical Studies Major in BA Degree. I got a long way to go.

I am in a wonderful Bible Study Group with my wonderful church family at Christ Baptist Church of Wilson.
